Taking our Napali Sunset Cruise is kind of like taking the sports car out for a scenic sunset drive. We’re not snorkeling, we’re not sailing, we’re strictly going on an afternoon boat outing to experience with our own eyes the world’s one and only Napali Coast. We’re going to learn local history and Hawaiian legends, bask in the golden hours of the day, observe wildlife, and treat ourselves and our loved ones to some delicious beverages and plenty of food all along the way!

For the Napali Sunset Cruise, you’ll be on our company’s flagship, namesake vessel, Holoholo. This badass boat was designed and built here on Kauai in 1997 and has been taking daily trips to the “Forbidden Island” of Niihau in all of the years since. Almost every morning, Holoholo crosses the demanding 17-mile Kaulakahi Channel (twice!) on her way to and from Niihau, taking passengers on an adventure of a lifetime on our Napali-Niihau Super Tour.

All of this to say that Holoholo is an incredibly ocean-worthy vessel and a comfortable ride when you’re taking a sunset cruise on the Napali Coast. Holoholo’s skinny hulls allow her to cut efficiently through Kauai’s waves and her low center of gravity means less “hobby-horsing” and less motion sickness. She’s been updated, upgraded, and modified throughout her years and is more dialed in than ever for maximum comfort and space.

You’re going to be eating and drinking well on your Napali Sunset Cruise. As soon as we’re off the dock and departing Port Allen Harbor, our Holo Holo crew members put on their drink service hats and offer all of our guests a little somethin’ to sip on as we cruise towards Napali. For beverages, we offer a creative selection of soft drinks, juices, domestic beer and Hawaii craft beer, hard seltzers, red, white, and sparkling wines, and our signature Koloa Rum Mai Tai.

Foodwise, we’ll be enjoying meats, cheeses, and crackers to start, along with fresh veggies and dips. For the main course, we’re serving pineapple, garden greens with lemon/herb vinaigrette, Somen noodle salad, Hapa rice, Teriyaki chicken, and roasted veggies with tofu. All of our food is made daily (with love!) using whole ingredients, by our caterers here on the south side of Kauai. To minimize waste, we use “real plates and real silverware” and cloth napkins for dinner service and ours is the only Kauai boat tour company to be a certified Ocean Friendly Restaurant by the Surfrider Foundation.

Keep in mind that all of this deliciousness is happening against the backdrop of the absolutely incredible Napali Coast! 4,000’ sea cliffs, sea arches, caves, waterfalls, pristine beaches, dolphins, turtles, humpback whales (seasonally), rainbows, reflections, sunsets, mermaids, unicorns– it blows our minds every time. The Napali Coast almost looks fakes– like a computer-generated image. But it’s really real, and fascinating to know that tens of thousands of people used to live and thrive on the coast, which is now uninhabited and protected as the Napali Coast State Wilderness Park.

When the setting sun melts into the ocean, we’ll look for the green flash, raise a toast to the day, and partake in some delectable Kauai Coffee Coconut Caramel Crunch Brownies. We are all about living our best lives on the Napali Sunset Cruise!

Whether you’re a Kauai local or a visitor: if drinks, dinner, and sunset is on your agenda, consider swapping out the regular old restaurant reservation and upgrading to a fun and memorable afternoon ocean adventure! Come aboard our stylish and steadfast cruising catamaran and let us wine you and dine you as we experience, explore, and learn about one of the most spectacular coastlines in the world.

We pride ourselves on creating fun and memorable ocean adventures for our guests. Your safety is our top priority; therefore, all tour routes, destinations, and snorkeling activities are dependent on ocean and weather conditions. If you are joining us during our winter season November – March, tours can be more often impacted by weather. Conditions around Kauai can change quickly, so our expert captains are constantly analyzing and may wait until check-in time to determine the best route for the day. If that occurs you will have the opportunity to go on the altered tour, reschedule to another day (availability permitting), or cancel your tour at no charge if it is weather-related. If you have any questions or concerns, please call us at 808-335-0815 so we can help create the best experience for you and your family!
